Veterans Memorial Park is a 1.75-acre urban green space located on the edge of Langford’s City Centre. Serving as the primary community plaza in the city, Veterans Memorial Park is the host location for many community events, such as the annual Remembrance Day Ceremony, Langford Light Up, and Goldstream Farmers Market. In response to the increasing need for greenspace in Langford's downtown core, the City of Langford acquired approximately 1.35 acres of adjacent land in 2022 to expand Veterans Memorial Park. The additional land will expand the size of Veterans Memorial Park to over 3 acres, as shown below:

The City of Langford has recently completed the first round of engagement for the Parks and Trails Master Plan, which has identified potential amenities for the expansion of Veterans Memorial Park. Additionally, in 2023, the City developed a Parks, Trails, and Recreation Needs Assessment, which identified the community’s current and future parks, natural space, trails, and recreation needs. With these potential amenities identified, the City is seeking community input to refine the design for the expansion of Veterans Memorial Park. Your feedback will help shape the future vision for the park.

The survey closes at the end of the day on August 17, 2025.

After receiving input from the community, analysis and park design will commence in Fall 2025, followed by construction in January 2026.
