The West Shore Parks & Recreation Society has initiated a process to better understand the community's needs for recreation and sports facilities. This process aims to gather input from the community regarding their requests for such facilities. The Society and Councils will use this information, along with other relevant data, to make informed decisions.
This project will lead to the development of a well supported report summarizing community needs for recreation and sport facilities in the Westshore. The final report will offer guidance on the types of facilities in demand and how the Society and the Councils can address that demand.
West Shore Parks & Recreation operates several indoor and outdoor recreation and sport facilities on behalf of its municipal partners. The municipal partners include the City of Langford, City of Colwood, Town of View Royal, District of Metchosin, and District of Highlands.
There are several opportunities to provide input toward the master plan, including online surveys, in-person engagement booths, digital input workshops, and an open offer to speak with the consultant team. The project is scheduled to be completed in Fall 2025.
