September 18, 2023 - Thank you for providing your feedback on the proposal for a Multi-Use Pathway on Mount Wells Drive. After reviewing the online responses, community petition, and in-person testimonials on September 7th at the Public Engagement Session, the decision has been to not move forward with the Multi-Use Pathway on Mount Wells Drive. The City will continue to look for opportunities to provide infrastructure upgrades in the area. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email engineering@langford.ca or call City Hall at 250-478-7882.

The City of Langford is constructing a multi-use path on Mount Wells Drive between Sooke Lake Road and Humpback Road in the fall of 2023. Mount Wells Drive is the primary access for Willway Elementary School, and the residents, parents, and children of Willway have expressed the need to provide students with a safe pedestrian and cycling network. The new multi-use path will connect to existing bike and pedestrian infrastructure on Sooke Lake Road and Humpback Road, and the design will incorporate the guidelines found in the BC Active Transportation Design Guide. This project is included in the Council-approved Five Year Financial Plan as part of the Engineering Capital Projects budget.

The City is Looking For Public Input Regarding the Three Unique Design Options:

Option 1: Complete Road Network

Option 2: Ultimate Road Network

Option 3: One-Way Road Network
