An official community plan shapes how a city will grow and what kind of place it will be. It is aspirational and practical. It impacts the places we call home, how we get around, what future development will look like and where it will be.
Your City Council, together with the community, local planning staff, and urban planning experts are delivering a refreshed plan for the future that will address:
- The needs of a population of 100,000 people
- Housing affordability
- Better Transportation, land use and infrastructure
- Public health and social equity
- Climate change planning and prevention
- And more!

New homes in Langford
The OCP is a Plan for Langford at 100,000 residents, which we are projected to reach within 15-20 years, although it may happen faster or slower. This increase in population will require more than 20,000 new homes. Where these homes are added will have significant implications to the many crises Langford is facing, as well as our ability to achieve many of the goals of the OCP including more transportation choices, local shopping and services, lower infrastructure costs etc.
With this in mind, where should the City focus on building these new homes in Langford?
Place as many pins in as many locations as you wish and comment on the map.
Urban centres
The City is considering adding more urban centres to accommodate population growth and improve access and walkability to shopping and services.
Where should these new centres be located?
Place as many pins and comments as you wish on the map.
